President Ferdinand Marcos Jr. took to social media to share a diplomatic engagement with United Arab Emirates (UAE) President Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed.
During their recent conversation, Marcos expressed gratitude for the UAE’s humanitarian assistance following devastating typhoons and floods in the Philippines.
“I extended to him my heartfelt thanks for the UAE’s humanitarian aid in the wake of the recent typhoons and floods that struck the Philippines,” he said.
He also highlighted the UAE’s decision to pardon 143 Filipinos, a gesture he described as a source of relief for many families.
“It is always inspiring to hear how our Filipino workers continue to excel and make a positive contribution in the UAE,” he continued.
The Philippine president put emphasis on the strong ties between the two nations, rooted in shared values and aspirations.
He conveyed optimism about further strengthening this partnership in the future.
