PCSO turns over P1.2B to 3 govt agencies

THE Philippine Charity Sweepstakes Office (PCSO) on Thursday turned over P1.2 billion in mandatory contributions to three government agencies on Thursday.

In a ceremonial turnover at the agency’s headquarters, General Manager Melquiades “Mel” Robles first turned over P1,125,731,509.55 to the Philippine Health Insurance Corp. (PhilHealth), as part of their contribution to the Universal Health Care (UHC) Act.

The PCSO said this is part of the law that they are required to give 40 percent from their Charity Fund to support the government’s health programs.

“P765 million more was allocated for the UHC today, compared to P360 million back in March,” the PCSO said.

The agency also turned over P70,562,139.40 to the Commission on Higher Education, and P17,430,072 to the Dangerous Drugs Board.

In total, the PCSO turned over P1,213,723.720.95 to the three government agencies.
