RICE development was a key discussion point between the Philippines and Laos at the World Food Forum held October 14 in Rome.
The two Southeast Asian countries, represented by Philippine Agriculture Secretary Francisco Tiu Laurel Jr. and Lao People’s Democratic Republic Minister of Agriculture and Forestry Linkham Douangsavanh, proposed a memorandum of understanding (MoU) to promote agricultural cooperation, specifically to establish a joint genetic bank to develop rice production.
