Tagum City Vice Mayor Allan Rellon officially launched his 2025 mayoral bid with lawyer Eva Lorraine Estabillo as his running mate. The two filed their certificates of candidacy (COC) for mayor and vice mayor respectively on Friday morning under Partido Reporma.
The Rellon-Estabillo tandem is poised to challenge the re-election bid of incumbent Mayor Rey Uy and Ester Lee Angoy, who filed their COCs on Thursday under the ruling Lakas-CMD party.
Rellon and Estabillo already worked together in the past. The former said he wanted to bring their partnership back to institute reforms in Tagum City with God at the center of their brand of governance.
“Our partnership has been proven and tested. We shared the same vision and goal for the city. We both wanted God to be the center of our leadership. We want to bring God back to the City,” said Rellon, who led Tagum City from 2013 to 2022 with Estabillo as his vice mayor.
“In my nine years of experience as a Mayor of this City, one of the legacies of my administration was good governance and we want that back in the City. We want Eagle Wings back. When you say ‘Eagle Wings,’ it means good social services, good infrastructure, good educational programs, and good communication system. We simply want good things to happen again in Tagum and to make the people of Tagum happy and content,” Rellon added.
The vice mayor said the people of Tagum deserve fairness in everything, especially when it comes to the distribution of financial assistance.
Estabillo, for her part, said she and Rellon have done a lot of programs and developments for the City during their term. “We have so much to offer and so much to do… We want to do more for the people of Tagum,” she said.
“I will not be a blind vice mayor. I will be (the) mayor’s check and balance. I am here to guide him, so he will always do what is right and what will bring good for our people and city,” Estabillo added.
Estabillo is the daughter of former Mayor Prospero Estabillo and was the first woman and lawyer elected as Vice Mayor of Tagum City.
