Severe Tropical Storm “Kristine” continues to lash Northern Luzon and other parts of the region as it moves towards the waters west of Ilocos Region.

In Cagayan Province, bridges and roads have become impassable to any kind of vehicle due to the rising water levels of the Cagayan River.

According to the Amulung Information Office, traversing the Amulung Steel Bridge, Goran Bridge, and Tana-Annabuculan Road is not advisable due to the heavy rains brought by the bad weather.

A total of 3,795 individuals from 1,321 families have been evacuated in the province due to Kristine.

The province reported that the evacuees came from 101 barangays and 17 municipalities.

In Camarines Sur, a public school was submerged under roof-deep floodwaters.

Public school teacher Yoly Aminalo took to social media to highlight the damages caused by Kristine to school equipment.

“Lahat ng pinaghirapan ng teachers DepEd materials equipment, [wala na],” she said.

The schools involved include Sta. Eulalia Elementary School in Baao District.

In Isabela, where Kristine made landfall early Thursday morning, several bridges were blocked.

Water levels in Magat Dam reached 182.41 meters, according to the Isabela PDRRMC.

Magat reported an inflow of 910.11 cms and an outflow of 498.50 cms.

In Laguna, residents reported power outages since early Thursday following Kristine’s landfall.
