Cavite Reps. Lani Mercado-Revilla and Antonio Ferrer have no opposition in their re-election bids.

In Bataan, provincial board member Tony Roman is set to become the next congressman for the province’s First District with no opposition to his candidacy to replace his sister, outgoing Rep. Geraldine Roman.

Board member Ram Revilla, brother of incumbent Senator Ramon “Bong” Revilla Jr., is also running unopposed for vice governor of the province in the May 12, 2025 local elections.

Records at the provincial Commission on Elections (Comelec) office in Trece Martires City showed that no other candidate for vice governor of Cavite filed a certificate of candidacy (COC) until the last day of filing last Tuesday.

Lawyer Mitzele Morales-Castro, Cavite Comelec supervisor, said four are vying for the gubernatorial post—Abeng Remulla, Weng Aguinaldo, Ber Ado, and Augusto Pera Jr.

Board member aspirants Romel Enriquez and Jgys Gandia are likewise running unchallenged as councilors for the First District, along with Edwin Malvar and Alde Pagulayan of the 2nd District; Ony Cantimbuhan and Lloyd Jaro of the 3rd District; Aidel Belamide and Ivee Reyes of the 5th District; and Kerby Salazar and Morit Sison of the 6th District.

Re-electionist Reps. Jolo Revilla, Adrian Jay Advincula, Roy Loyola, Ping Remulla, and Aniela Tolentino have their respective challengers, namely Dr. Paul Abaya, former Imus City Mayor Emmanuel Maliksi, Julie Tolentino, Michael Santos, Wally Abutin, Allan Par. and Irene Bencito.

Cavite Councilor’s League Federation president Kiko Barzaga,, Ley Ordones, Jesse Frani and Osmundo Calupad are fighting it out for the position vacated by the death of Dasmariñas Rep. Elpidio Barzaga.

Candidates for Speaker in the 4th District, Cavite are Nickol Austria, Jun dela Cuesta, Ely Gumbaolibot and Nin̈a Trinidad; Board member aspirants in the 7th District are former Board member Ver Ambion of Amadeo, Alfred Sunga, Camille del Rosario and Aldrin Anacan. 

Bets for board member of 8th District are Jasmin Maligaya, Raymond Ambion and Aimee Nazareno.

Tony Roman filed his COC together with other members of the 1Bataan political alliance, among them re-electionist Bataan Gov. Joet Garcia, Vice Gov. Cris Garcia,, 2nd District Rep. Abet Garcia, 3rd District Rep. Gila Garcia.

Roman practices law bothin the Philippines and New York.

He has postgraduate degrees and certificates from Columbia University, Harvard University, and the University of Cambridge.
