The TODA Aksyon party-list on Sunday vowed to improve the rights, privileges. and benefits of those in the sector of tricycle operators and drivers’ associations through the passage of a Magna Carta law for them.
Its first nominee, ex-Valenzuela City councilor Rovin Andrew Feliciano, is eyeing a seat in Congress to look after the welfare of one of the most neglected marginalized sectors of society.
“The TODA Aksyon party-list will participate in the 2025 elections to give voice and representation to tricycle drivers and operators throughout the Philippines because for a long time, the truly marginalized sector has no representation,” he stressed.
The party-list, once elected in Congress, aims the passage of the Magna Carta for Tricycle Drivers and Operators.
Some of its 10-point agenda included the return of the Oil Price Stabilization Fund; the coverage of health and accident insurance, Pag-IBIG and Social Security System membership; free legal assistance; establishment of gasoline stations in central terminal under a cooperatives, and permanent terminals sans thenlocal government unit’s political power; provision of free livelihood, and scholarship programs in partnership with Technical Education and Skills Development Authority.
“It’s high time that tricycle drivers and operators are prioritized and should have laws that would uplift and ease their lives,” Feliciano said.
