MANILA, Philippines — Listed retail companies of tycoon Manuel Villar Jr. have named new acting presidents to lead their respective businesses forward.

Villar-led AllDay Marts Inc., operator of AllDay Supermarkets, has elected Magdalena de Guzman as the new acting president, chief operating officer and director of the company.

De Guzman will take over the position of Jacqueline Cano, who resigned as acting president and chief operating officer of the company due to personal reasons.

A graduate of the University of Santo Tomas, De Guzman started her career in the real estate industry, serving as administrative head and eventually as operating head of Vista Land from 2001 to 2008.

The 57-year-old official handled the post of purchasing head before transitioning to the retail sector, where she held the role of merchandising head of AllHome from 2015 to 2017.

She returned to Vista Land in 2018 as administrative group head.

De Guzman joined PAVI Group in 2022, where she currently leads the purchasing group and the regulatory and compliance departments.

Meanwhile, the Villar Group’s one-stop, full-line home center AllHome Corp. has elected Frances Rosalie Coloma as its new acting president as replacement of Benjamarie Therese Serrano who passed away on Sept. 5.

Coloma resigned from her position as treasurer of the company and will be replaced by Louella Fernandez, who served as finance head at Vista Land & Lifescapes Inc. from 2017 to 2019.

The 62-year-old Coloma is a graduate of the University of the Philippines and is a certified public accountant.

She is a director of Vista Land and Golden Bria Holdings Inc. and was the chief financial officer and chief information officer of Golden Bria from 2016 to 2019.

Coloma also held the position of chief financial officer of Starmalls Inc. from 2012 to 2016.

Prior to becoming the chief operating officer of AllHome, she served as the president and chief executive officer of AllDay Marts.

AllHome has also elected Dante Julongbayan, who has held several key positions in the Villar Group since joining in 1993, as a new director of the company as replacement to Serrano.

AllDay posted a 7.7-percent increase in net income to P185 million in the first semester as revenue reached P4.9 billion, while AllHome reported a net income of P282.4 million in the first half as revenue amounted to P5.6 billion.
