MANILA, Philippines —”Star For All Seasons” Vilma Santos answers critics who are questioning her sons Luis Manzano and Ryan Christian Recto for joining her in politics.
In a report by Philippine Entertainment Portal, Vilma said they are not the only family to do that.
“Si Ralph [Recto, her husband] kasi is not running. Secretary of Finance siya at hindi siya makakaalis sa national government,” she added.
Vilma also defended her sons, saying they are already exposed to the public that’s why she welcomed their decisions to run.
Vilma said that Luis and Ryan are prepared for public office.
Imagine, nu’ng maging public servant ako, nu’ng mayor ako, Ryan was only three years old,” she said.
“So dito na rin sila lumaki, sa public service na nakita nila sa amin, at naranasan nila iyon nang magsilbi sila at magbigay ng mga financial distribution,” she added.
Vilma said that she needs Luis as the vice governor of Batangas because technology is evolving.
“Because I personally believe kung nahilingan akong tumakbo bilang nanay uli ng Batangas, I need Lucky. Kailangan ko ‘yung anak ko. Kasi kailangan ko ‘yung technology, kailangan ko ‘yung social media. Kailangan ko ng technology na itong mga new blood ang makapagbibigay to do a fast work, fast service.
“Remember, three years lang ‘yan. So, nakaplano ang programa. Ryan is the same thing.
“Nu’ng na-expose na uli sila dito sa Lipa, they are both ready. Matalino at may puso ang mga ito.”
