Malacañang announced that classes at all levels and work in government offices remain suspended on Friday, October 25, in Luzon amid the persistent heavy rains and strong winds attributed to severe tropical storm ‘Kristine.’
The Office of the Executive Secretary (OES) issued the statement on Thursday evening following the raising of Tropical Cyclone Wind Signal Nos. 1, 2, and 3 across most of the region, as well as recommendations from the National Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Council (NDRRMC).
Government agencies responsible for essential services, including disaster response, health, and other vital functions, are instructed to continue operations to support ongoing rescue, relief, and recovery efforts, according to the OES.
Local government units outside Luzon are authorized to declare localized suspensions of work and classes as necessary. Meanwhile, private companies have been given the discretion to decide on their work arrangements during the ongoing storm.
