MANILA, Philippines — The National Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Council (NDRRMC) said that 8,630,663 people or 2,200,731 families were affected by tropical cyclones Kristine and Leon.
The agency’s latest report said the death toll was 146, with 126 up for validation.
The NDRRMC said of the 96 seaports affected, 75 are now operational and have resumed trips.
A total of 189,340 houses were damaged.
Damage to agriculture was estimated at P4,526,481,853.51, with 106,715 farmers and fisherfolk affected.
Meanwhile, 105 irrigation facilities were also damaged, with an estimated amount of P1,031,418,000.
Damage to infrastructure has reached P7,212,262,651.45 as 946 structures were affected.
President Ferdinand Marcos Jr. has declared Monday, November 4, 2024, a Day of National Mourning for the victims of heavy rains, flooding, and strong winds brought by Severe Tropical Storm Kristine.
