Balanga was named the “Most Business-Friendly Local Government Unit (LGU)” in the Philippines for 2024 in the recent 50th Philippine Business Congress held at Manila’s Marriott Hotel.
The prestigious award presented by the Philippine Chamber of Commerce and Industry recognizes LGUs that implement policies and initiatives fostering a business-friendly environment. It encourages local governments to create conditions conducive to business growth, supporting economic development across municipalities and provinces.
Through the leadership of Mayor Francis Garcia and Vice Mayor Vianca Venzon Gozon, significant strides were made to enhance the ease of doing business in Balanga.
Balanga’s key initiatives included promoting digital transformation, supporting local startups, and providing vital resources like laptops and learning hubs to strengthen education.
The city has also focused on health advocacy, environmental protection, and the development of agri-tourism projects.
The locality has also been committed to addressing housing needs through the construction of new units for its residents.
Raquel Garcia, wife of the city mayor and chairperson of the Balanga City Tourism Council, received the award during the ceremony.
