De La Salle-College of Saint Benilde (DLS-CSB) has announced the introduction of its Bachelor of Science in Hospitality and Luxury Management (BS-HLM) program, designed to prepare future leaders for the competitive global hospitality and luxury industries.
The BS-HLM program, part of the School of Hotel, Restaurant, and Institution Management (SHRIM), combines theoretical knowledge and practical experience to develop students’ management skills, service excellence, and foundational principles for managing hotels, resorts, restaurants, and luxury leisure enterprises.
Graduates of the program will be equipped to become leaders in traditional hospitality and luxury brand management, trained to meet international service standards in hospitality, leisure, event planning, and food and beverage management. They will gain essential business acumen for overseeing various functions, including operations, human resources, marketing, accounting, finance, revenue, and risk management.
The curriculum encourages students to apply innovative solutions to organizational challenges, develop entrepreneurial skills, and identify emerging opportunities. Students will also learn to initiate process improvements based on evidence-based practices, driving sustainable growth and adaptability in a dynamic market.
Key characteristics emphasized in the program include a comprehensive understanding of service standards, attention to detail, and exemplary customer service, all essential for positioning brands within the luxury sector. Students will also develop proficiency in verbal and non-verbal communication in multiple languages to enhance cross-cultural interactions and guest experiences.
Mentorship from industry experts, seasoned academicians, and practitioners is a cornerstone of the program, alongside access to state-of-the-art facilities and technology for hands-on learning. Students will have opportunities to expand their knowledge and international networks through partnerships with esteemed institutions, including Louis Vuitton, Emirates Academy of Hospitality Management in collaboration with Jumeirah Hotels and Resorts, and various culinary and hospitality management programs in Italy and Canada.
The BS-HLM program consists of 174 units and will be completed over ten terms.
