The Bureau of Corrections (BuCor) allowed persons deprived of liberty (PDL) at the New Bilibid Prison in Muntinlupa City to pay respects to their departed loved ones virtually through “Electronic Undas.”

The inmates can observe Undas online through laptops and headphones from November 1 to 2.

BuCor said that it wants to support inmates in remembering the lives of those they have lost.

“The electronic undas is a way of the institution to let the PDLs honor their deceased relatives and loved ones,” said BuCor in a statement on Friday.

“Through this program, PDLs have the opportunity to participate in virtual activities that facilitate their expressions of remembrance for their beloved.”

Further, the BuCor said the initiative “fosters a sense of compassion and dedication to the service as they reform PDLs.” —Vince Ferreras/LDF, GMA Integrated News
