MANILA, Philippines — Minimum wage earners and household workers in Caraga are expected to receive a higher take-home pay after the regional wage board scheduled hearings for a salary adjustment.
The Regional Tripartite Wages and Productivity Board (RTWPB) said it would conduct public consultations on Nov. 18 and 20 in Butuan City and San Francisco in Agusan del Sur, respectively, and on Nov. 25 in Surigao City.
Wage boards in the Cordilleras and Mimaropa said they would conduct similar public consultations, but did not give the dates for the hearings.
Earlier, Labor Secretary Bienvenido Laguesma said all RTWPBs will issue new wage orders before the end of the year.
RTWPBs in Ilocos, Cagayan Valley, Central Luzon, Calabarzon, Western Visayas, Central Visayas and Soccsksargen as well as the National Capital Region have already granted a wage hike to workers.
