THE Commission on Filipinos Overseas (CFO) received two accolades during the Freedom of Information (FOI) Awards at the Hilton Manila in Pasay City on Monday.

In a post on its Facebook page on Tuesday, the CFO said it received the FOI champion under the Agencies/Bureaus/Commissions/Councils Category, and its FOI receiving officer Joanna Erika Laguna as the Best FOI Officer.

CFO Secretary Dante Ang II received the FOI Champion Award, alongside Garcia, FOI Decision Maker Director Rodrigo Garcia Jr. and FOI Data Specialist Darlene May San Juan.

The awards were conferred by the Presidential Communications Office-Freedom of Information-Program Management Office (PCO FOI-PMO) on Monday.

It is the second straight year the CFO recognized as the FOI Champion as an ally of the PCO FOI-PMO in promoting transparency and accountability from the government.
