As a member of the National Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Council, the DSWD was allotted P1.75 billion in quick response fund under the General Appropriations Act of 2024.

The DSWD was allowed by law to request replenishment if its obligation reaches 50 percent.

Dumlao said the agency has so far distributed 18,316 family food packs to families affected by typhoons Nika and Ofel.

“We have a continuous response operation and goods prepositioning in place to guarantee that those affected by the typhoons receive ongoing support,” she added.
