TACLOBAN, Philippines — Minimum wage earners in Eastern Visayas are expected to receive a higher take-home pay after the Regional Tripartite Wages and Productivity Board (RTWPB) approved a petition to increase the daily rate in the region.
The RTWPB issued a wage order on Nov. 5, granting an increase of P30 in the daily pay of workers in different sectors or industries.
The order brought the workers’ daily wage from P405 to P435.
The same wage order granted an increase of P500 in the monthly salary of household workers or kasambahay, or from P5,500 to P6,000.
The board said the wage increase would take effect on Dec. 2, or 15 days after the order is published in a newspaper of general circulation.
