EDGEPOINT Philippines recently secured over 400 new tenancies, further advancing its goal of enhancing digital connectivity across the Philippines.

This expansion comprises a mix of newly built sites and colocation arrangements spanning Luzon, Metro Manila, and the Visayas, supporting the Philippines’ Common Tower Policy.

This policy aims to increase telecommunications infrastructure sharing among service providers, promote competition, lower entry barriers for new companies, and expedite permit processes for new towers.

“The award of over 400 new tenancies marks a pivotal milestone for us as a growing towerco. We are witnessing an increasing demand for colocation tenancy sites, reflecting the Common Tower Policy coming to fruition and driving connectivity improvements,” said William Walters, chief executive at EdgePoint, as he highlighted the significance of the milestone, underscoring the rising demand for colocation tenancy as a testament to the policy’s impact on digital transformation.

“The 400 orders will serve as an expansion of the local infrastructure to deliver significant improvements in network connectivity for communities. We are confident it will enhance the country’s digital landscape and support its digital transformation by enabling greater access to high-quality network services,” Walters added.

The new tenancies will bolster connectivity for underserved areas, helping EdgePoint deliver improved network services and expand its reach.

Having grown quickly, EdgePoint now ranks as the Philippines’ third-largest tower company with 2,800 sites, and these new developments further solidify its role in the country’s digital infrastructure landscape.
