While his co-star Gerald Anderson, whom he fondly calls “Kapitan,” undergoes firearms training, The T-Zone was able to convince JC to reveal just a little bit more about his role as the interview progressed. He said he is working on physical aspects of his portrayal, hinting at an external makeover to match his new role.

“There’s something we’re changing with the hair, something to look forward to,” he teased, leaving fans curious about his upcoming look.

But the transformation doesn’t stop there. When the T-Zone complimented the 38-year-old actor for looking younger than ever, JC acknowledged he is fully committed to maintaining a healthy lifestyle, crediting his workout regimen and disciplined routines to help him stay at his best both on-screen and off.

“I work out every day. I don’t go out late anymore and no more vices for me,” he said, stressing that this dedication isn’t only for his career but also for his family. After all, he and his wife, Rikkah Cruz, are preparing to welcome their third child next year.

“This will be our last one, whether it’s a boy or a girl,” JC, who has been blessed with two daughters, chuckled.

Originally, he and Rikkah only planned for two children, but with his girls growing up so quickly, they felt having a third in their brood would make them more “complete.”

“They bring so many blessings, including this new project,” the doting dad enthused, likewise explaining they’ve agreed to put a cap at three to make sure they’ll be able to give each child quality upbringing.

Meanwhile, JC has also been blessed movie-wise as part of the principal cast of “Huwag Mo Kong Iwan,” alongside Rhian Ramos and Tom Rodriguez. Produced by BenTria Productions, the lead star conveyed that the film is very timely for besides delivering a beautiful love story, it also highlights the sacrifices many Filipinos make for a better future.

“It reflects many social issues, especially for Overseas Filipino Workers (OFWs) and middle-class Filipinos who work tirelessly for their families,” he elaborated.

The film reunites JC with Rhian Ramos, who was his leading lady in the drama series, “La Lola,” during his early days with GMA Network back in 2008.

“It was a great experience working with Rhian again. We’ve both matured, and our collaboration just flowed naturally,” JC said. “We didn’t have to feel each other out anymore, so the work just went smoothly, and we enjoyed it.”

As “Huwag Mo Kong Iwan” hits theaters on November 27, JC is already also already working on another movie titled, “In Thy Name,” for release next year.

“This one’s an action film directed by Cesar Soriano and I’m really excited about it too,” he beamed.

With project after project coming his way, JC de Vera rounded up the catch-up session expressing his immense gratitude to LVD, ABS-CBN and the industry, which continues to value his talent year after year, for over two decades, and clearly, beyond.

“If you’ve noticed, I’ve never been involved in any serious controversies throughout my time in showbiz and that’s been intentional,” he averred. “You see, I love what I do so I’ve made it a point from the very start to simply do my best in every role that comes my way, and go from one project to the next because that’s always been my goal and my wish here. To be able to work as an actor for as long as I can without any complications, and I’m determined to carry like this for many more years to come.”
