FOREIGN Affairs Undersecretary Ma. Theresa Lazaro has invited economic missions from Poland to explore more opportunities in the Philippine market.
The Philippines and Poland held their 6th Political Consultations on Nov. 14 in in Warsaw.
Lazaro urged Poland to consider investment opportunities in the Philippines, particularly in creative industries such as gaming and animation.
Lazaro headed the Philippine delegation while the Polish team was led by Secretary of State Władysław Teofil Bartoszewski of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs.
Both sides discussed the ways forward following the visit to the Philippines by Polish Foreign Minister Radosław Sikorski and his meeting with Foreign Affairs Secretary Enrique Manalo in September 2024.
This included increasing high level and parliamentary exchanges as well as strengthening cooperation in the fields of security and defense, maritime, legal, agriculture, information and communications technology, science and technology, and labor.
The Philippine and Polish delegations also exchanged views on key regional and international issues of concern involving the Association of Southeast Asian Nations, the Indo-Pacific and Europe.
Both sides reaffirmed their commitment to advance bilateral initiatives and further strengthen many areas of collaboration, the Department of Foreign Affairs said in a statement.
Lazaro also delivered a lecture at the Collegium Civitas and participated in a roundtable discussion at the Polish Institute of International Affairs in Warsaw.
