President Ferdinand Marcos Jr. has appointed prosecutor Richard Fadullon as prosecutor general of the National Prosecution Service (NPS).
Fadullon replaced former Prosecutor General Benedicto Malcontento, who resigned from his post in October after five years of service.
Prior to his appointment, Fadullon served as senior deputy state prosecutor for several years, according to the Department of Justice (DOJ).
The DOJ said he has served the agency for 30 years since April 1994.
Meanwhile, DOJ said he completed his undergraduate course in AB Political Science at UP Diliman in 1983 and obtained his law degree from the San Beda College in 1987.
Justice Secretary Jesus Crispin Remulla expressed confidence in Fadullon.
“I am extremely confident in your skill, experience, and resolve that you are the perfect fit for the title of Prosecutor General capable of upholding the rule of law with fearlessness and utmost integrity,” he was quoted as saying to Fadullon in a statement.—LDF, GMA Integrated News
