MANILA, Philippines — Hundreds of people fled Friday as Typhoon “Pepito” (international name: Man-Yi) bore down on the Philippines, threatening yet more destruction even as rescuers tried to reach people stranded on rooftops by the last tropical cyclone.
The Philippine Atmospheric Geophysical Astronomical Services Administration (Pagasa) said that Metro Manila would likely feel the impact of Pepito on Sunday.
