METRO Pacific Health Corp., the health arm of Pangilinan-led investment management and holding company Metro Pacific Investments Corp. (MPIC), on Sunday said that it had added the City of General Trias Doctors Medical Center Inc. to its portfolio, expanding its network to 27 hospitals across the country.

“We are grateful for the growing trust from doctors and hospital owners from all over the country who have chosen to partner with Metro Pacific Health, allowing us to further develop and expand their service offerings to their respective communities,” Metro Pacific Health President Augie Palisoc Jr. said.

“This investment… is our 16th provincial partnership and the second in the province of Cavite in just a little over a year,” he added.

The latest addition to MPH’s hospital network is located along Governor’s Drive in General Trias and is at the crossroads of the five most densely populated cities of Cavite.

It is also just 2 kilometers from the Calax Governor’s Drive toll exit, which is expected to open in the first quarter of 2025, allowing greater vehicular access from more cities in and beyond Cavite.

“As our network expands, we are attracting more hospital owners eager to collaborate with us, probably because of the marked improvements they see in the hospitals we invest in,” Palisoc said.

MPH said that it was aiming to enhance the hospital’s operational efficiencies and patient care standards to ensure that patients receive the highest quality services.

“This transaction between the City of General Trias Doctors Medical Center and Metro Pacific Health will undoubtedly benefit both parties and the patients we serve,” said Dr. Ricardo Beroncal, the hospital’s former president and one of its founders.

MPH now has 11 hospitals in the National Capital Region (NCR). Prior to the General Trias hospital acquisition, its latest investment in the NCR was Diliman Doctors Hospital last month. Outside of the capital, MPH has another eight hospitals in North and South Luzon, two in the Visayas, and six in Mindanao.

The 27 hospitals combined offer approximately 4,400 beds, 11,000 doctors and 16,000 healthcare staff to look after the health needs of some 4.2 million patients a year.

Among the better-known hospitals in its network are the Makati Medical Center, Asian Hospital, Cardinal Santos Medical Center, Davao Doctors Hospital, and Riverside Medical Center Bacolod.
