MANILA, Philippines — The National Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Council (NDRRMC) said that the damage to infrastructure and agriculture sustained by the country due to the trio of storms had reached a combined value of P478 million.

According to the latest situation report of the NDRRMC, Typhoons Nika, Ofel, and Pepito caused damage to some P469.8 million in infrastructure in Cagayan Valley, Central Luzon, and the Cordilleras.

Meanwhile, the cost of damage to crops, livestock and farm equipment by the cyclones is at P8.6 million.

At least 1.8 million people were affected by the storms.

The NDRRMC said it was still confirming fatalities but that at least 25 people were injured.

Local officials reported that eight people were killed during the onslaught of Pepito.

The government has provided P54 million worth of aid so far, it said.

US Defense Secretary Lloyd Austin announced Monday an additional $1 million in humanitarian aid to the victims of the recent storms.
