THE Department of Tourism has announced that the Philippines will host the Seatrade Cruise Asia 2024 from Nov. 11 to 13 this year at Shangri-La The Fort in Taguig City.
The integration of this significant industry meeting with Seatrade Maritime Crew Connect Global, the leading event for marine crewing and seafarer welfare, marks a significant phase in the Philippines’ developing leadership in cruise tourism and commitment to developing Asia’s first world-class cruise center.
Tourism Secretary Christina Garcia Frasco highlighted the importance of the event in establishing the Philippines as a premier cruise destination in the region.
“Hosting Seatrade Cruise Asia 2024 underscores the Philippines’ readiness and capability to lead in cruise tourism,” Frasco said.
“Our archipelago’s vibrant culture, exceptional hospitality, and breathtaking natural attractions make us an ideal destination for international cruise lines and travelers,” she added.
Over 350 international participants will attend Seatrade Cruise Asia 2024, which will include cruise line executives, itinerary planners, port agents and tourism officials from all over the world.
Throughout the three-day event, participants will engage in networking sessions, learning forums and strategic talks geared at promoting long-term growth and regional collaboration in the cruise industry.
Seatrade Cruise Asia 2024 will begin with a welcoming reception on Nov. 11, exhibiting Filipino history via engaging cultural activities.
Highlights include a keynote discussion on the “State of the Asian Cruise Industry” and a ministry dialogue on the future of Asian cruise tourism, which emphasizes sustainable practices and regional synergies.
The event is expected to provide an important venue for discourse, forging relationships that will push the Philippines and Asia’s cruise tourism industries ahead, consolidating the country’s position on the global tourist scene.
