Even before the Philippine Tatler’s 23rd anniversary celebration ended, managing director Irene Martel Francisco proudly announced that the ball had already raised more than the projected donation of P12 million for the evening’s beneficiary ConnectEd, Tech for All by Her Legacy Project headed by dedicated partners, charming Tootsy Angara and media icon Karen Davila, to provide essential resources and laptops to gifted but marginalized children in last mile schools across the Philippines.
Guests arrived at Shangri-La at The Fort dressed in their finest couture gowns and bespoke tuxedos, ready to celebrate this remarkable milestone. Co-hosted by Tatler editor-in-chief Anton San Diego and the beauteous Heart Evangelista Escudero, the atmosphere buzzed with anticipation as friends and colleagues mingled amid exquisite decor, fine dining, and a captivating auction hosted by the energetic tandem of Tim Yap and Steph Zubiri — honoring Tatler’s legacy in showcasing the best of Filipino culture and lifestyle.
The ball would not have been complete without the Tatler Impact Awards with four exceptional individuals honored: Olympic hero Carlos Yulo for his contributions to culture and sports, Dr. Erika Legara for her advancements in science and Innovation, Cherrie Atilano for her commitment to humanity, and Martha Sazon for her achievements in business. Their dedication exemplified how passion and determination could inspire and shape a brighter future.
A few days later, as I congratulated the indefatigable Irene, she enthused, “It’s never too early to give thanks and we at Tatler Philippines have so much to be grateful for! We have done extremely well raising funds for our beneficiary, ConnectED: Tech for All by Her Legacy Project Foundation. Total donations are now at P20,581,400! Way over our target of P12,500,000. This strengthens our commitment to always use our platform and voice to champion causes for the betterment of our country.”
