The number of reported fatalities due to the effects of tropical cyclones Nika, Ofel, and Pepito increased to 12, according to the National Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Council (NDRRMC) on Thursday.
As of 8 a.m., the NDRRMC said that five of the reported dead were already validated, while the remaining seven are still up for verification.
Four individuals remained missing, while 16 others sustained injuries.
The recent storms affected 3.5 million people across 34 provinces, displacing a total of 429,852 individuals.
Nika, Ofel, and Pepito, which all entered the Philippine Area of Responsibility this November, also resulted in P2.03 billion damage to infrastructure and P29.6 million damage to agriculture.
Data from the Department of Agriculture on Tuesday showed that the damage to agriculture due to successive tropical cyclones—from Kristine to Ofel—has reached more than P10 billion.
The NDRRMC said the three recent tropical cyclones also damaged 51,921 houses nationwide, and affected 541 roads and 120 bridges.
Twenty nine cities and municipalities were also placed under a state of calamity.
