The Supreme Court (SC) on Monday said it will draft a framework that will outline guidelines for the use of artificial intelligence (AI) in court operations and management.
According to the High Court, Senior Associate Justice Marvic Leonen said that the AI Governance Framework will provide standards for using AI.
The court said the framework will focus on core principles such as reliability, transparency, accountability, fairness and non-discrimination, privacy and data protection, human agency and oversight, and security and safety, among others.
Meanwhile, the SC said it has started pilot testing of AI technologies such as voice-to-text transcription software for court stenographers in the Sandiganbayan and select first and second-level courts.
Aside from this, the court said it is testing AI-enhanced platforms to streamline legal search.
However, Leonen stressed that the SC has yet to implement any AI system.—AOL, GMA Integrated News
