Taylor Swift’s record-breaking Eras tour inspired this life-sized creation from Elza Baldzhiyska, which had to be withdrawn due to problems in transit.

Cake International regular Emma Jayne has previously created a life-sized version of King Charles. This time she turned her attention to an edible Queen Elizabeth I.

A life-sized Taylor Swift cake has had to be withdrawn from a major cake show after its hands detached in transit – somewhat apt for the singer of Shake it Off.

Artist Elza Baldzhiyska tried to repair her creation at the high-profile event on Friday morning, but the cake was just too battered.

And as if inspired by moves on the record-breaking Eras tour, the baked creation was also left bending at the knees.

It had been scheduled to be one of the centrepieces at Cake International hosted by the NEC near Birmingham, but then the hands once scone were gone. Oh crumbs.

But those disappointed by Swift’s wrists woes need not stay glum for long.

The thousands of visitors expected to attend the event, which runs until Sunday, can enjoy lots of other baked doubles, including a life-sized version of Queen Elizabeth I and a recreation of Dogpool, a canine character from the Deadpool & Wolverine hit movie.

They are among hundreds of exhibits and competition entries as Cake International celebrates its 30th anniversary.

There are also live demonstrations and trade stalls.

The larger cakes are inevitably fragile. This one was damaged while being transported to the show

Emma Jayne, an artist from South Wales, has previously created a life-sized version of King Charles in his coronation year.

This time she turned her attention to Queen Elizabeth I, inspired by a portrait at Hatfield House, in Hertfordshire.

Cake International said it would be the final feature piece from its resident artist.
