If you think that Halloween is over, think twice as the Thai zombie thriller film Operation Undead has finally come to the Philippine shores.

Directed by acclaimed filmmaker Kome KongKiat Komesiri, the film stars rising talents Awat Ratanapintha and Chanon Santinatornkul, alongside Nobu Watanabe.

First released in August in Thailand, the film follows the story of two brothers, Mek and Mok, set against the backdrop of World War II in 1941. The disciplined Mek, portrayed by Santinatornkul, serves in the Thai army, while his free-spirited brother Mok, played by Ratanapintha, is a rebellious young man drawn into the chaos of war.

As the brothers navigate their starkly different principles, they are thrust into a harrowing crisis when the Japanese army unveils a horrifying secret weapon: zombie-like soldiers capable of infecting anyone they bite. As the infected wreak havoc, Mek and his fellow army officials are ordered to eliminate the threat, even if it means confronting their own men.

The film promises not just chills and thrills, but a heart-wrenching narrative as Mek faces an agonizing choice when he discovers his brother Mok has been infected. Will he follow orders and eliminate the monster his brother has become, or will he risk everything in a desperate bid to save him?

Operation Undead delves deep into themes of loyalty, humanity, and the moral complexities of war, setting it apart from traditional zombie horror flicks.

Brought by Viva International Pictures, Operation Undead is now exclusively showing at Ayala Malls Cinemas nationwide.
