Several local government units (LGUs), including in Metro Manila, announced class suspensions for Monday, November 11, in anticipation of the heavy rains and strong winds from severe tropical storm ‘Nika’ (Toraji).
As of late Sunday evening, the following LGUs released either notices of ‘Walang Pasok’ in varying levels or a shift to onsite classes for the peace of mind of parents, students, and school personnel, who were waiting for such declaration ahead of ‘Nika’s expected landfall:
METRO MANILA
All levels in public and private schools are suspended, except in some cities
- Caloocan City
- Las Piñas
- Malabon City
- Mandaluyong City
- Makati City (kinder to Grade 12 only)
- Manila (shift to online classes left to the discretion of private higher education institutions)
- Marikina City
- Muntinlupa City
- Navotas City
- Parañaque City
- Pasay City
- Pasig City
- Pateros
- San Juan City
- Taguig City
- Valenzuela City
CORDILLERA ADMINISTRATIVE REGION
- Abra (kinder to Grade 12)
- Benguet (including Baguio City)
- Mountain Province (kinder to senior high school)
ILOCOS REGION
- Ilocos Sur (including work in government offices)
- La Union
- Pangasinan
CAGAYAN VALLEY
- Cagayan (preschool to senior high school in Santo Niño)
- Isabela (Echague and Santiago City)
- Nueva Vizcaya
- Quirino (including work in government offices)
CENTRAL LUZON
- Aurora
