Malacanang Palace has recently declared local non-working holidays in several areas for the rest of 2024.
See the list of upcoming local holidays signed to order through Presidential Proclamations below:
November 27 in Baggao, Cagayan
Under Proclamation 748, November 27 was declared a special non-working holiday in the locality in line with the municipality’s founding anniversary. The holiday takes place mid-week on a Wednesday.
December 2 in Cainta, Rizal
Through Proclamation 740, Executive Secretary Lucas Bersamin signed to order a non-working holiday on December 2 in Cainta, Rizal. This holiday was implemented in accordance with the Sumbingtik Festival and its founding anniversary on Sunday, December 1. The declaration will form a 3-day long weekend for residents in Cainta.
December 6 in M’Lang, Cotabato
Under Proclamation 741, the municipality of M’Lang in Cotabato will be having a special non-working holiday on December 6 in observance of the Kawayanan Festival. Taking place on a Friday, it will be a 3-day long weekend in the locality.
December 12 in San Juan, Batangas
In celebration of the municipality’s founding anniversary, a special non-working holiday on December 12 was declared in San Juan under Proclamation 742. The proclamation will fall on a Thursday.
December 16 in Calatagan, Batangas
As a result of Proclamation 743, a special non-working holiday was declared in Calatagan on December 16 in accordance with the municipality’s founding anniversary.
December 18 in Tuguegarao, Cagayan
The special non-working holiday on December 18 was declared in observation of the city’s 25th Charter Anniversary. The holiday, which will take place on a Wednesday, falls under Proclamation 744.
December 19 in Diplahan, Zamboanga Sibugay
Under Proclamation 745, the special non-working holiday on December 19 marks the municipality’s founding anniversary. The holiday will take place on a Thursday.
December 20 in Sipalay, Negros Occidental
The special non-working holiday on December 20 marks the city’s 76th founding anniversary and the Pasaway Handurawan Festival. Under Proclamation 746, the Friday holiday will be creating a 3-day holiday for the locality.
December 23 in Santo Niño, South Cotabato
Under Proclamation 747, the special non-working holiday celebrates the 44th Founding Anniversary of the municipality of Sto. Niño and the 25th Hinublag Festival. —Jiselle Anne Casucian/LDF, GMA Integrated News
