MANILA, Philippines — PLDT unit VITRO Inc. has further enhanced the network diversity and redundancy of its Sta. Rosa hyperscale data center following the activation of its network infrastructure.
PLDT said that VITRO has activated the network infrastructure of its 50-megawatt Sta. Rosa data center to enable telco partners to establish their points-of-presence (PoP).
These include PLDT, Radius, Eastern Telecommunications, Philcom, Infinivan, HGC and Converge ICT.
PLDT said the activation of VITRO Sta. Rosa’s network infrastructure serves as another significant milestone in the facility’s network readiness as this will ensure that clients have access to connectivity solutions that are best suited to their business needs.
“At VITRO, our commitment goes beyond constructing state-of-the-art facilities. We strive to build hyperconnected data centers that drive our clients’ business success,” VITRO president and CEO Victor Genuino said.
“Our mission is to empower our clients by fostering a telco and carrier ecosystem that promotes growth, resilience and innovation in the digital age,” Genuino said.
With its network powered-up, VITRO Sta. Rosa is poised to solidify its status as the first true hyperscale data center with a highly diverse ecosystem and robust network infrastructure that cater to the stringent needs of hyperscalers, enterprises and the public sector.
To ensure telco diversity by design, PLDT said that VITRO Sta. Rosa would also activate an initial 52 telco racks by the end of the year, with plans to expand to over 200 racks to support future growth.
It said that each telco room is strategically designed with access to three diverse points of entry optimizing network reliability and resilience.
VITRO has also partnered with Ciena, a global leader in networking systems, services and software, to enhance inter-data center connectivity.
The collaboration enables VSR to maintain secure, high-speed connections to the rest of VITRO’s Metro Manila sites.
