SEN. Bong Go charged young legislators to be leaders Filipinos can trust and depend on.
“Leadership is not about power or position — it is about service, humility, and the unwavering commitment to uplift the lives of those who rely on us, especially the poor and the marginalized. Always remember, as public servants, we carry the hopes and dreams of countless individuals,” Go said in his speech during the National Movement of Young Legislators (NMYL) 4th Quarter National Council Assembly at the Citadines Hotel in Pasay City on Tuesday.
The meeting aims to reinforce idealism and good governance among young leaders.
The event was attended by 200 young legislators, as well as board members, vice mayors, councilors, and Sangguniang Kabataan Federation presidents.
The senator thanked the organizers of the event, including NMYL President and Councilor Marlon Alejandrino, National Vice Chairman and board member Antonio Jose Rebong, National Secretary General and board member Kerby Javier Salazar, and National Deputy Secretary and Councilor Janina Carine Fariñas.
Go, chairman of the Senate Committee on Youth, reminded the legislators to always do what is right.
“Let us remember, we only pass through this world once. Whatever good or help we can do for our fellowmen, let us do it now because we will not return to this world,” he said.
