(UPDATE) TWO popular dining spots in Malate, Manila, are on the list of the world’s most iconic restaurants by food and restaurant guide Taste Atlas.
In Taste Atlas’ top 100 list, the Aristocrat Restaurant was in 73rd place and Café Adriatico in 90th.
In 2023, Taste Atlas also included the Aristocrat among the 150 Most Legendary Restaurants in the World, ranking 108th.
The restaurant, founded in 1936, is known for its boneless chicken barbecue and Lumpiang Shanghai, which they said is among the best in the world.
Aristocrat’s mechado and pancit canton were among the world’s best.
“The Legend is now also an Icon!” the restaurant said on its Facebook page on Monday.
Café Adriatico is the flagship of the chain of restaurants of the legendary restaurateur Larry J. Cruz. It is famous for its adobo and pancit palabok, which Taste Atlas named among its most iconic dishes.
Topping Taste Atlas’ list is the Figlmüller restaurant in Vienna, Austria, known for its signature Wiener schnitzel dish.
