MANILA, Philippines — Spotify has unveiled its highly-anticipated 2024 Wrapped campaign — celebrating the fans, artists, and creators who all made this year the record-breaking, culture-making, fandom-shaking year it was.

Spotify users can also access their personalized 2024 Wrapped Experience, with new features to showcase how they soundtracked their year.

2024 showed up with its own trends, moments, and movements that defined the music landscape, from breakout artists rocketing to the top of charts to passionate fandoms fueling powerful genres.

Globally, Taylor Swift is Spotify’s 2024 Global Top Artist for the second year in a row, followed by The Weekend (No. 2), Bad Bunny (No. 3), Drake (No. 4), and Billie Eilish (No. 5).

In the Philippines, passionate fan bases are pushing emerging Pinoy artists and homegrown genres to greater heights. RADAR artist Hev Abi leads the charge as this year’s Spotify Wrapped Philippines’ Top Local Artist, proving that Pinoy hip-hop is here to stay.

Joining him are fellow RADAR artists and P-Pop sensation BINI, claiming the No. 2 spot. Rounding out the list of top local artists are balladeers Arthur Nery (No. 3), TJ Monterde (No. 4), and folk-pop band Ben&Ben (No. 5), showcasing the breadth of talent and genres captivating Filipino fans.

Reflecting on the recognition he has been receiving, Hev Abi shares, “‘Di naman siya nakakagulat para sa akin — lahat naman siguro ng artist gusto maging leading in some way, somehow.

Pinoy Spotify users proudly championed homegrown hits, with Spotify RADAR artists dominating the top spots of this year’s Spotify Wrapped Philippines’ Top Songs.

At the top is Babaero, a collaboration between gins&melodies and Hev Abi, followed by Maki’s heartfelt solo song Dilaw (No. 2), Dionela’s soulful masterpiece sining featuring Jay R (No. 3), Hev Abi’s hard-hitting Walang Alam (No. 4) and BINI’s vibrant P-Pop track Pantropiko rounding up the list at (No. 5), with the list giving a nod to the vibrant future of Filipino.

“2024 has been an incredible year. We’re thrilled to celebrate the vibrant and diverse music landscape through Wrapped, a reflection of how fans connect and champion their favorite artists on Spotify,” said Gustav Back, managing director for Southeast Asia, Spotify. “Pinoy music continues to break into new spaces like never before and we’re excited to continue working closely with local creators to bring their crafts to more audiences.”

Coming in as the Philippines Top Artist of 2024 is Taylor Swift, followed by Hev Abi at No. 2. Female powerhouses Ariana Grande (No. 3) and BINI (No. 4) come next, while Bruno Mars rounded off the list at No. 5.

The Philippines’ list of Top Podcasts of the Year reflects Filipinos’ strong appetite for local and diverse content, with love and relationships content dominating the charts and horror emerging as a breakout genre.

“Barangay Love Stories” and “Dear MOR” secured the No. 1 and No. 3 spots, respectively, while “skypodcast” landed at No. 5. Meanwhile, “Sitio Bangungot – Pinoy Horror Stories for Sleep Podcast” and “Kwentong Takipsilim Pinoy Tagalog Horror Stories Podcast”  claimed the No. 2 and No. 4 spots, highlighting a growing fascination with spine-tingling narratives.

Filipinos also embraced the laugh-out-loud moments brought by local comedians, with “The KoolPals” earning the title of Philippines’ Top Comedy Podcast of the Year.

Reflecting on their journey together as podcasters, James Caraan said, “When we started ‘The KoolPals,’ our goal was simple: promote our live shows and connect with comedy fans, until podcasting took our comedy to another level of ‘funny.’ Spotify made our jokes resonate with more comedy fans, and when our listeners greet us in public and share jokes with us as good friends do, it gives us an amazing feeling.”
