MANILA, Philippines — Nearly 8,000 personnel of the National Capital Region Police Office will be deployed to secure Metro Manila during the holiday season, the NCRPO announced yesterday.
The deployment will cover key areas across Metro Manila, with police officers strategically stationed in malls, churches, transport terminals, markets, parks and other places of convergence.
“These locations are expected to have increased foot traffic during the Yuletide season,” the NCRPO said.
The Southern Police District will deploy 2,154 personnel while the Eastern Police District will assign 1,665 officers.
The NCRPO said 2,069 force multipliers will assist in implementing security measures in crowded areas.
NCRPO director Brig. Gen. Anthony Aberin called on the public to stay alert and to report any suspicious activities to authorities.
“Ensuring a secure Yuletide season is important. The NCRPO remains steadfast in its readiness and capability to achieve a peaceful and orderly Christmas celebration in Metro Manila,” Aberin said.
