Abacore chief, banker de Mesa passes away

ABACORE Capital Holdings Inc. (ABA) on Thursday announced the passing of its chairman, president and CEO Raul De Mesa.

“Raul B. De Mesa was more than a leader; he was a visionary, a mentor, and a driving force behind the success and growth of Abacore. His unwavering dedication, compassion, and commitment to excellence inspired us all, and his legacy will continue to share the future of our company,” the company said in a statement.

De Mesa also worked as director at Pacific Online Systems Corp. (POSC) from June 2022 until the time of his death.

“The corporation sends its condolences to Mr. De Mesa’s family and friends, as well as its appreciation for his contributions in helping guide the corporation’s pursuit of business,” POSC said in a disclosure.

De Mesa has 37 years of banking experience.

He also served as independent director at Philippine Regional Investment Development Corp., Abacus Global Tenchnovisions Inc., Montemaria Asia Pilgrims Inc. and Philab Holdings Corp.

De Mesa obtained his business degree from De La Salle University and a strategic business economics degree from the University of Asia and the Pacific.

ABA’s share price fell by a centavo to close at P0.68 apiece on Thursday.
