POLICE authorities announced on Christmas Day the arrest of three drug suspects in a buy-bust in Taguig City on Monday, December 23.
In a statement posted on its website on Wednesday, the Philippine National Police Drug Enforcement Group (PNP DEG) said the operation was conducted by the Special Operations Unit of the National Capital Region (NCR).
Led by PNP DEG director Brig. Gen. Eleazar Matta, the operation was accomplished in coordination with the agency’s Intelligence and Foreign Liaison Division (IFLD), targeting three people at a house on Mangondato St., Maharlika Village, Taguig City.
Three men, ages 52, 46 and 27, all residents of the target address, were arrested during the operation.
“Authorities seized four heat-sealed transparent plastic sachets, each containing a white crystalline substance suspected to be shabu, weighing approximately 200 grams, and with an estimated street value of P1.3 million. Non-drug evidence was also recovered during the operation,” the PNP DEG said.
All three arrested suspects are in the custody of the Special Operations Unit of the PNP DEG in the NCR for proper documentation and disposition, with the drug evidence forwarded to the PNP Forensic Group at Camp Crame for laboratory examination.
“The successful buy-bust operation carried out by the PNP-DEG has effectively dismantled a dangerous drug group, safeguarding local communities from further harm. With millions of pesos worth of illegal drugs seized, this operation has greatly contributed to the safety of the area,” Matta said.
