MANILA — Authorities intercepted abandoned parcels in Pasay City containing high-grade marijuana or “kush” and ecstasy tablets with an estimated street value of nearly P13 million.
Philippine National Police Drug Enforcement Group (PDEG) chief BGen. Eleazar Matta said the joint operation last Thursday at the Central Mail Exchange Center along Domestic Road led to the seizure of 21 abandoned inbound parcels containing 7.79 kilograms of kush worth P10.9 million and 1,229 pieces of ecstasy tablets worth P2.08 million.
“This successful operation marks a significant milestone in our continuous battle against illegal drugs, demonstrating law enforcement’s dedication to fostering a safer society. Each drug seizure contributes to the security of our communities,” Matta said in a statement on Friday.
The seized suspected illegal drug items were inventoried, marked, photographed, and submitted to the Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency Laboratory Service for laboratory analysis.
