SEN. Bong Go, a prominent advocate for health reforms, has strengthened his position as one of the leading senatorial candidates, ranking third to fourth in the latest Pulse Asia survey conducted from Nov. 26 to Dec. 3.
Go’s awareness rating has increased to 99 percent, and his voting preference has risen to 54.7 percent, a notable improvement from 40.3 percent in September.
His trust and performance ratings have also improved compared to the previous quarter
“I am very grateful to our countrymen for their continued support and trust. My only goal is to serve and help my fellow Filipinos to the best of my ability,” Go said, emphasizing his gratitude for the public’s trust and his dedication to service.
“My diligence is one of the things I can offer to my fellow Filipinos because serving is my habit,” he added.
Go’s legislative accomplishments this year and over recent years have solidified his reputation as a public servant focused on bringing services closer to Filipinos, particularly in health, youth, sports, and disaster resilience.
“The results of these surveys inspire me to continue working for the benefit of our countrymen. The trust placed in me is a responsibility that must be matched by continued service with true concern,” Senator Go said.
So far, Go has authored 16 laws, principally sponsored 80 laws, including 78 measures for establishing or upgrading public hospitals, and co-authored or co-sponsored 185 other laws.
Among his most notable contributions is the Republic Act (RA) 11463, also known as the Malasakit Centers Act of 2019, which he principally authored and sponsored.
This law institutionalized the Malasakit Centers program, which now has 166 centers operating across the country and provides critical assistance to over 15 million Filipinos.
Go also played a key role in the enactment of Republic Act (RA) 11959, the Regional Specialty Centers Act, as its principal sponsor and one of its authors.
The law mandates the establishment of regional specialty centers within Department of Health (DOH) regional hospitals, improving access to specialized medical services.
“It is important that every Filipino feels government services, no matter where they are in the country. That is why we are trying to bring help closer to those in need,” Go shared, underscoring his commitment to accessible health care.
Go’s efforts also extend beyond health. He recently principally authored and co-sponsored RA 12076, the Ligtas Pinoy Centers Act, which mandates the establishment of fully equipped, dedicated evacuation centers nationwide.
Signed into law on Dec. 6, this measure protects families displaced by natural disasters.
Additionally, Go co-authored and co-sponsored RA 12077, the Student Loan Payment Moratorium During Disasters and Emergencies Act.
This law provides temporary financial relief to students with outstanding loans during calamities, a testament to his focus on alleviating the burdens of crises on vulnerable sectors.
Senator Go’s improved survey rankings mirror his tireless efforts to address the needs of the Filipino people.
In Publicus Asia Inc.’s Pahayag 2024 End-of-the-Year Survey conducted from Nov. 29 to Dec. 3, Go topped the unaided voting preference category among senatorial aspirants and rose to fourth place in the aided voting preference, up from fifth place in October.
Other surveys also underscore his strong standing. The Issues and Advocacy Center’s Pulso ng Pilipino Fourth Quarter Pre-Poll Survey, conducted from Nov. 5 to Dec. 1, placed him fifth with 46.5 percent voter preference.
In Tangere’s nationwide survey from Nov. 6 to 9, Go ranked third with a solid 50.13 percent voter preference.
Senator Go thanked the Filipinos for their trust and support.
“All that we have done this year would not have been possible without your support. I am very grateful to you, and I will continue to serve you to the best of my ability because I believe that service to people is service to God,” he said.
