Senator Bong Revilla may have had to step away from his plans to return to the Metro Manila Film Festival race following his Achilles tendon injury earlier this year, but his fans won’t be left wanting this holiday season. On Sunday, Dec. 22, the action star will instead return to primetime television with the highly anticipated third season of Walang Matigas na Pulis sa Matinik na Misis (WMNPSMNM). This top-rated sitcom, co-produced by Imus Productions and GMA Network, promises a thrilling mix of action, heartfelt drama, and comedic moments that fans of Tolome and his fiery wife, Gloria, have come to love.
Revilla’s excitement about the show’s return was palpable over a select junket interview, including The T-Zone. “The results of Seasons 1 and 2 were so strong, we knew we had to do a follow-up,” shared the popular actor-senator.
“Even though I was supposed to be focusing on ‘Alias Pogi’ for the MMFF, I decided to prioritize this as a gift for Christmas and before the elections.”
A reelectionist who is perennially in the Top 10, Sen. Bong can no longer appear in any showbiz projects beginning February 2025 until after the May elections.
Meanwhile, despite the injury, which required months of physical therapy and rehabilitation, Sen. Bong remained steadfast in his commitment to public service. “I never missed a day of work in the Senate,” he proudly noted.
And indeed, Sen. Bong ended the year not only with a perfect attendance record in the Upper Chamber but also with local and regional recognitions for his legislative contributions, winning back-to-back public service awards that have further cemented his stature as a dedicated senator.
Far from a setback, the actor-senator’s injury has evidently turned into a story of triumph.
“Believe it or not, by October, I was walking again, and my leg felt even stronger,” Sen. Bong shared, showing just how strong his drive was to recover fully. “I could run, jump, and do stunts again. So this season, you’ll see me do everything — from jumping off cars to underwater scenes… It’s like a movie!”
As before, the series’ cinematic quality sets WMNPSMNM from other television productions. And with Imus Productions now partnering with GMA Network, Sen. Bong promises more death-defying stunts and explosive moments. Joining Sen. Bing once more is Beauty Gonzales as his on-screen wife Gloria, who shared her excitement about exploring a different facet of her talent.
“This show has allowed me to showcase my comedic side. I’ve done drama and horror, but this is something special. Working with Sen. Bong, who is so dedicated, has been inspiring,” she said.
Beauty also praised the lead’s care for everyone on set. “Even with intense action scenes, he ensures safety comes first.”
Season 3 dives deeper into the lives of Tolome and Gloria, blending emotional beats with heart-pounding action.
“You’ll laugh, cry, and savor the essence of family values. Full of action but with a tug on the heart,” Sen. Bong promised.
Revilla finally reflected on how acting remains a personal passion and a way to stay energized as a public servant. “This is my first love,” he said. “Acting isn’t just work — it’s my way of unwinding. Instead of taking a break, I get to create something meaningful, recharge, and come back to the Senate refreshed and ready to serve.”
For the fans, the return of WMNPSMNM couldn’t be more welcome. The fact that people shout “Tolome” everywhere he goes is a testament to the character’s enduring appeal.
“It’s heartwarming to know how much this show means to people. That’s why we worked so hard to make Season 3 our best yet,” he ended.
Walang Matigas na Pulis sa Matinik na Misis Season 3 premieres airs Sunday nights at 7:15 p.m. on GMA Network. Episodes are also available for global viewers on GMA Pinoy TV.
