COSTA Crociere, the prestigious Italian cruise line, recently embarked on a two-day visit to the Philippines, led by its president, Mario Zanetti, and senior vice president for human resources, Paolo Tolle.

Zanetti said the trip was filled with significant engagements reaffirming Costa’s commitment to the Filipino maritime community.

The visit’s cornerstone was a meeting with Magsaysay Maritime Corp. (MMC) at its headquarters. MMC has been a key partner of Costa Crociere for over 20 years.

The discussions focused on future collaboration strategies, particularly Filipino seafarer recruitment and well-being. Both parties emphasized the importance of crew member welfare and expressed a desire to build a future-proof framework for continued partnership.

The itinerary included an intimate dinner hosted by Magsaysay’s leadership, where the group interacted with the Italian Ambassador to the Philippines Davide Giglio. Additionally, a visit to the Department of Migrant Workers solidified Costa’s dedication to employing and protecting Filipino seafarers.

The visit concluded at the Magsaysay Center for Hospitality and Culinary Arts (MIHCA), where Costa officials met with vacationing crew members and trainees. A noteworthy highlight was the unveiling of Costa’s official logo and Costa Campus logo at MIHCA Manila, symbolizing the enduring partnership and shared vision between Costa Crociere and MMC.
