A cyclist lost his arm after he was sandwiched between two buses during a road accident in Noveleta, Cavite.
In Dano Tingcungco’s Wednesday report on “24 Oras,” the 25-year-old victim was going to work when he was caught in a road accident in Barangay Magdiwang on Tuesday afternoon.
According to the police, a minibus was going to Kawit when the driver lost control of its brake.
(The driver said he maintains his minibus daily, including the breaks. He was surprised when he lost control of his brake during the incident.)
The minibus hit the victim, who was then riding his bicycle, and went straight ahead until it hit another bus.
(When he lost control of his brakes, the driver avoided the vehicle in front of him but hit the waiting shed where the victim was. When the minibus hit the bicycle, the victim was caught between two buses.)
The minibus also hit two tricycles before it fully stopped.
The victim is currently in a hospital and will undergo surgery.
The victim’s family, the driver, and the minibus operator have settled the issue. The operator will shoulder the medical expenses.
“Pwede siyang makasuhan sana ng reckless imprudence resulting to serious physical injury and multiple damage to property pero ang priority kasi ng pamilya na ma-doon sa ospital ng ano kaya nakipag-settle sila doon sa nakabangga na bayaran lahat ng sa ospital at danyos doon sa bata,” Enriquez said.
