LISTED Philippine gaming and amusement firm DigiPlus Interactive Corp. will offer sports betting and e-casino games to the iGaming sector of Brazil after securing a license to operate in that country.

In a message to The Manila Times, DigiPlus Chairman Eusebio Tanco said: “Brazil’s dynamic gaming landscape presents a pivotal milestone in DigiPlus’ global journey. We are bringing not just our innovative platforms and diverse gaming portfolio, but also our unwavering commitment to responsible gaming.”

Earlier this month, the company’s subsidiary, DigiPlus Brazil Interactive Ltda., completed post-qualification regulatory requirements, including license fee payments.

The company is now awaiting its full list of operators prior to opening.

“While receiving the license is a significant milestone, our priority is building a strong, capable local team and preparing our operations to deliver exceptional services,” the company said in a statement.

“Our initial offerings will include sports betting and e-casino games such as slots and card games, which have been proven successful on our platform,” DigiPlus noted.

To resonate with the Brazilian audience, the company intends to localize its platform and game offerings to adapt and align with the unique preferences of the market.

It may introduce new games after the localization process is completed.

In November, the company’s board of directors approved P660 million in funding to enter Brazil’s iGaming space, of which 30 million reals or P300 million were used to secure the five-year license investment fee.

The license underscores our commitment to Brazil as a strategic growth market, where we aim to deliver a seamless and engaging gaming experience, DigiPlus said.

“By combining our proven platforms with localized insights, we are confident in our ability to resonate with Brazilian players and contribute to Brazil’s thriving iGaming sector,” Tanco concluded.

DigiPlus, touted as the Philippines’ fastest-growing digital gaming group, reported a 223-percent surge in revenues for the first nine months of 2024 at P51.56 billion, and a 314-percent spike in consolidated net income at P8.75 billion from P2.11 billion.

On Dec. 27, DigiPlus shares were up by 35 centavos at 1.31 percent, and closed at P27.15 apiece.
