THE Department of the Interior and Local Government (DILG) said its Local Government Unit Support System, a pioneering digital platform designed to revolutionize governance, would be ready by January next year.
The platform, composed of Barangay (village) Information Management System and Cities and Municipalities Information Management System, is capable of data management, records maintenance and administrative tasks.
The system supports other functions such as disaster risk reduction, gender and development, reporting and upkeep of barangay inhabitant records.
By centralizing data management and streamlining administrative tasks, the platform would enhance decision-making.
“It will not only improve processes but also the overall quality of life within villages, cities, and municipalities,” Local Government Undersecretary Lord Villanueva said.
A DILG survey revealed that 98.84 percent of respondents from villages and 98.69 percent of respondents from cities and municipalities expressed willingness to adopt the platform.
Training sessions would be held to familiarize users with its functions.
The platform would be provided for free to LGUs, while the DILG Information Systems and Technology Management Service was tasked to oversee its maintenance.
