MOBILITY is a basic human need and fundamental right. When mobility is limited, a person’s basic rights and freedoms are curtailed. When travel is problematic, jobs, health care, education, livelihood opportunities and even social interaction are out of reach.

Today, one of the biggest problems faced by Filipinos is the difficulty of getting around their towns and cities. Mobility is constrained because walking and cycling is unsafe or limited by poor infrastructure, and public transportation is inadequate. Worse, when people have no option except to use a private motor vehicle, the result is more vehicles on our roads, leading to more congestion and less mobility for all. This is the downward spiral that we are caught up in and from which we need to escape.
