Eastern bounces back, spoils TNT’s conference debut

Hong Kong Eastern bounced back at the expense of TNT, 105-84, on Friday in the PBA Commissioner’s Cup at the Ninoy Aquino Stadium in Manila.

The win came after Eastern’s loss to Rain or Shine last Wednesday, while the Tropang Giga made its debut in the conference after winning the Governors’ Cup title last November 8.

Eastern pulled away in the second half after making a 10-0 run capped by a Hayden Blankley triple at the 6:26 mark of the third period. The Hong Kong-based squad also outscored TNT, 26-16, in the said frame to close with a 73-63 lead.

Eastern continued pounding in the fourth period and led by as much as 24, 99-75, with less than three minutes remaining in the said frame.

Cameron Clark led Eastern with 36 points and 14 rebounds, while Blankley also had a double-double of 24 points and 10 boards as the Hong Kong-based squad improved to 3-1.

Returning TNT import Rondae Hollis-Jefferson had 33 points, while Kim Aurin led the TNT locals with 12 points.
