A man was nabbed for carrying and pointing a gun at motorists during an incident of road rage on Colonel Bravo Street in Taguig City on Sunday.
According to a 24 Oras report by Raffy Tima on Tuesday, a cellphone video of the incident showed the suspect pointing a gun at the video uploader.
While he was being held back by one of his companions, his other companion was also seen mocking the victims as the suspect continued to rage.
The suspect was immediately arrested in a follow-up operation conducted by the Taguig Police and was identified as a retired member of the Philippine Marines.
Authorities also seized a caliber-45 gun with seven bullets from the suspect.
According to an initial investigation, the incident was caused by an argument after the suspect blocked the victims’ vehicle and was bothered by the beeping of their horn.
The argument led to a screaming match, which led to the suspect pointing a gun to the victim.
“Yung kaniyang baril eto ay tsini-check natin kung whether it is still licensed or not, but alam ko nakapag-file na yung ating Taguig Police Station [ng] kaso for grave threats at illegal possession. Definitely, hindi licensed yung baril na to,” said Southern Police District Director Police Brigadier General Bernard Yang.
(We are still checking whether his gun was still licensed or not, but from what I know, the Taguig Police Station has filed a case for grave threats and illegal possession. Definitely, this gun was not licensed.)
The suspect is currently detained at the Taguig Police Station. — Jiselle Anne C. Casucian/BM, GMA Integrated News
